Establishing, developing and advancing the work of Canada’s only women’s university is a bold endeavor and would not have been possible without the remarkable courage of Brescia’s dedicated leader. In 1920, Mother St. Anne Lachance charted a strong course for Brescia, becoming the University’s first leader (then known as Dean). Since then, twelve distinguished women have held the role of Principal and our current first President, Dr. Lauretta Frederking, all have made a lasting mark on the University’s campus and community.
