Please upload your assignment instructions when booking!
The Writing Centre is a place where you can talk about your writing and find answers to questions you may have about writing at a university level. While we mainly focus on academic writing, we also help students, faculty, and staff to write for diverse audiences, including professionals and community members.
You are welcome to visit the Writing Centre early in the term to learn about our Centre and how we can help you prepare for writing assignments.
Our Writing Centre Manager, Dr. Magdalena Kubow, and our team of writing tutors love to help students learn more about Canadian academic expectations and help them develop multilingual and multimodal communication skills. Our tutors are trained undergraduate students who are passionate about writing and communicating ideas.
In Dr. Kubow’s office (MSJ 158), we have a collection of writing handbooks, style guides, and handouts. You are welcome to drop in to use our resources and take away copies of handouts. Additionally, we hold writing workshops throughout the year, please check our social media pages for upcoming dates!
Most importantly, the Brescia Writing Centre is your writing space. Writers strengthen their writing by sharing ideas with informed and supportive audiences. We look very forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas. Happy Writing!
We will not write your papers for you or serve as an editing or proofreading service. However, we will be happy to help you learn more about your writing. Together, we can work from a paper you are writing and our resources to support that process. If you are concerned about a particular aspect of your writing, including grammar, we can help you to identify representative examples in your drafts and provide resources to help you learn how to improve.
